Cape Town - Four-time major winner Ernie Els will tee off at the Czech Masters for the first time this weekend.
The South African legend has not had a season to write home about, missing seven cuts in his 16 outings so far in 2019.
Nonetheless, Els is eager to experience the Albatross Golf Resort this week.
"We have just arrived here this morning," quipped the four-time major winner on Tuesday.
"Beautiful hotel, beautiful city. I haven't been to the course yet but Ricky (Roberts), my caddie, was out there and said there has been a lot of rain. So it will be very different from last year and we will see as we go along."
Els withdrew from the Scottish Open last month due to a back injury but managed to recoup somewhat to play in The Open Championship at Royal Portrush, where he made the weekend and finished T32.
"I have had a lot of treatment on it," he said of his back.
"Nothing too serious but serious enough where I couldn't play the other week. When it's in the rough it's tough to follow through. I've had it before so we worked it out and it should be good."
Els will tee off 14:31 SA time on Thursday alongside former Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjorn and Englishman Eddie Pepperell.
