Proteas Test captain Dean Elgar said they won't be basking in the glory of their innings and 63-run caning of the West Indies in the first Test in St Lucia.
The second Test between the teams starts on Friday at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground and Elgar, who led South Africa for the first time in his full-time capacity as Test captain, said one win can't be used as a measure of success.
"It would be a sin if we took our foot off the gas. I want a 2-0 win against the West Indies and we're going to keep pushing the bar as a unit," Elgar said.
"I'll definitely be exercising that from my capacity that we go further and beyond. Winning one game doesn't create success.
"Winning two games is really something I am going to be pushing for."
Elgar, who was out for nought in South Africa's only innings, said they came close to playing the perfect Test even though the conditions remained challenging for batsmen throughout the Test.
"Clinical is one word. Ruthless could be the other, but it was a bit of the old-school South African style of cricket that I've been pushing for," Elgar said.
"Knowing that we have it within us, it was just about getting it out of the guys, taking them to the water and making them drink."
South Africa's performance was one where they rolled the West Indies over for 97 in their first dig where Lungi Ngidi claimed 5/19 and Anrich Nortje collecting 4/35.
With the score being the West Indies' lowest against SA, Quinton de Kock rammed home the bowling advantage with a sparkling 141* that was aided by Aiden Markram's 60 and Rassie van der Dussen's 46.
Kagiso Rabada then blasted out the West Indies batting with 5/34, while Nortje and Keshav Maharaj also contributed with key wickets.
Elgar said it was good to see things coming together.
"It's nice when things come together. I'll always be the guy who'll find a negative somewhere, but it was great to see the guys doing well," Elgar said.
"It was with Kagiso and Anrich doing well with the ball and Keshav Maharaj on day three when he put up his hand to bowl.
"Quinton scoring his highest Test 100 was great for us, while Aiden and Rassie applied themselves pretty well."
