New Delhi [India], May 8 (ANI): Amid tensions between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday issued a stern warning to the neighbouring country, emphasising India's firm stance against cross-border terrorism and said that further provocations can lead to 'bigger steps' by the Indian Armed Forces.
Speaking to the media, CM Gupta said, 'Pakistan has also understood that the crime they have committed, the way they have continuously spread terrorism in India, the government and our army have given a befitting reply to it and if this continues from their side, then perhaps our army will take even bigger steps and they should be ready for that because 140 crore people of the country are ready. The country is united and every person is ready for any struggle.'
Meanwhile, an all-party meeting called by the Centre over Operation Sindoor is underway at the Parliament Annexe building. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh briefed political parties over India's action on cross-border terrorism.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister JP Nadda, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi are among several others who participated in the meeting.
Ahead of the meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the country has taken a 'big action' for which all the parties will be briefed about the operation, which is the government's responsibility.
He further asserted that the entire nation stands with the Indian Armed Forces.
'Our country has taken a big action. We have called for an all-party meeting over Operation Sindoor, which was conducted by our armed forces. We must brief all the parties about the situation, as it is the responsibility of the government, and the PM has directed us to do so. The entire country is with the armed forces', Kiren Rijiju told ANI.
Indian forces conducted the precise strikes on nine terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir under Operation Sindoor on Wednesday.
The strikes were aimed at avenging the victims of the Pahalgam attack and eliminating key Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leaders and camps involved in planning attacks on Indian soil. (ANI)
