(250526) -- OMDURMAN, May 26, 2025 (Xinhua) -- A man pours water fetched from the Nile River into a water tanker near Al-Hattana neighborhood in Omdurman City, north of the Sudanese capital Khartoum, May 25, 2025.

In recent days, Khartoum State has been sweltering under a scorching sun, with temperatures soaring to 45C, according to the latest report by the Sudan Meteorological Authority.

This intense heatwave has exacerbated existing challenges faced by the residents, including power outages and a severe drinking water crisis due to drone attacks that targeted power stations during armed conflicts. (Photo by Mohamed Khidir/Xinhua)
