Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 19 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday reiterated that blood and water cannot go along and the stop in the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan would affect its economy in times to come.
Speaking at the release of a book, 'Indus Water Treaty - Mirroring the Facts', written by Sant Kumar Sharma, the LG also paid his respects to those who were killed in the Pahalgam attack.
'I pay my respects to those killed in the Pahalgam attack. Pakistan-sponsored terrorists killed our citizens. Operation Sindoor was launched, and what happened, everyone knows. Before that, PM Modi suspended the Indus Water Treaty, a historic decision. As you know, after this treaty, India also had to fight three wars, and India was not able to stop the Indus Water Treaty. They sponsored terrorism in Kashmir but the PM took the decision, PM said water and blood can't go along,' he said
'This action of stopping Indus water treaty is such that Pakistan has to face its brunt in future to come. Pakistan is dependent on India's water for its 16 million hectare of land cultivation. 237 million populations is dependent on this treaty. In coming years this effect of this treaty will effect Pakistan economy. PM has said that Indian water will now help India only,' he added.
The JK LG assured that the state was committed to take strong action against terrorism.
In future, any terrorist act will be taken as a war on India. We are very close to achieving terrorism free J&K. The common Kashmiri is against this terrorism; Pakistan have killed many innocent Kashmiri's. FIR will be registered in cases of terrorism and justice will be given to those affected by terrorism. Yesterday, TRF was announced as a terrorist organisation by the USA We will take strong action against terrorists.
Earlier in the day, the LG addressed the Provincial Arya Mahasammelan at Jammu to commemorate the 200th birth anniversary of Maharshi Dayananda Saraswati and the 150th anniversary of the founding of Arya Samaj. (ANI)
